Edward Jung
Edward Jung has 14 years of industrial experiences

(Samsung Research, Bell-Labs). In 2009, he moved to academia and joined the SPSU’s
Computer Science and Software Engineering department in the School of Computing and
Software Engineering.
Prior to joining SPSU, he was a Murray visiting professor of Computer Science and
a visiting professor of Wireless Information Network Laboratory (WINLAB) at Rutgers
University, New Brunswick, NJ (2008 – 2009). From 2003 until 2007, he was a director
of Information Security Research Group at Samsung AIT (a central research arm of Samsung).
From 1997 until 2003, he was a member of technical staff at Bell Labs, New Jersey,
where he had conducted R&D work in the area of secure mobile computing and networks.
His primary research interests lie in the foundation of secure and reliable computing,
communications, and digital contents. He has published about 30 peer-reviewed research
papers and holds 50 patents in those areas.
He received both a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Minnesota,
Minneapolis. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ACM.
