Jonathan W. Lartigue
Undergraduate and Graduate Program Coordinator for Software Engineering
Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering
Jonathan W. Lartigue earned his Master of Software Engineering degree from Auburn University in 2002 with a dual concentration in intelligent and interactive systems and software engineering. He will receive his doctorate in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Auburn in December.
Jonathan has taught at the university level for nearly a decade, both as an adjunct professor in Clearwater, Florida, and as an instructor at Auburn University. Jonathan also holds a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching from the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and is a graduate of Auburn University’s Preparing Future Faculty program.
He has more than 12 years experience as a software engineer, a software and systems project manager, and as a mobile device application architect. He has worked as a Senior Multi-Disciplined Engineer for the Network Centric Systems division of Raytheon Company and as a Senior Software Engineer for Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories. He was among the first published iPhone developers in the world and has developed more than a dozen mobile apps for commercial and academic use. Two of his applications have achieved worldwide No. 1 rankings.
Jonathan’s research interests include mobile device development, cloud-based and multi-tier information systems, design patterns, and the dynamics of software engineering teams. He is a member of the IEEE-CS, ACM, and the Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon honor societies.
Jonathan also holds a Bachelor of Liberal arts degree in journalism and is a former reporter, photographer, and copy editor for the New York Times Company's regional news group. He is active in community service, particularly through the Civil Air Patrol (United States Air Force Auxiliary) where he holds many emergency services qualifications and is a pilot, public affairs officer and aerospace education officer. He received the Presidential Disaster Relief ribbon and a National Commander's citation for his service during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster and performs more than 100 hours of service each year through the Civil Air Patrol.
