James Werner's research involves the study of new media practices in art and the philosophies
of art in education. Current research endeavors are in the areas of social media participation
and locative media, telematic installation and its translation to public space, and
art/museum evolution via collaboration. Recent research has included focuses on new
media immersive environments, environmental art, and how media centric aesthetic engagements
affect learning environments across disciplines.
James is a practicing artist. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
