Hi! My name is Leslie Hankey, and I've been an adjunct instructor at SPSU since January 2011. Soon after graduating from UGA with a BBA, I went to work for Oxford Industries, Inc. where I eventually rose to the position of Retail Group Manager. I enjoyed the exposure to clothing design, management, merchandising and advertising. After nine years with Oxford, I retired to take care of a large and lively family—for a time.
Offered a job in the Advancement Office at Whitefield Academy, I reentered the work force serving as Advancement Assistant, Communications Assistant, Special Projects Coordinator, and Graphic Design Teacher. I became fascinated by communication, information design, and new media arts and entered the MSIDC program at SPSU. While a graduate student I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Professor Jack Haley.
I came to the faculty at SPSU to teach Foundations of Graphics. I have since taught Applied Graphics and Graphics in the Professions, too—these are exciting courses at SPSU as the field rapidly develops.
I am delighted to be a member of this vibrant learning community.
